And there's nothing more baller than true Champagne.
There are several factors that set Champagne apart from other sparkling wines, but ultimately, it comes down to three key elements.
1) Place: It MUST be from within the limits of Champagne, France (with a very few "grandfathered" exceptions).
2) Fermentation Process: The bubbles have to be created within the bottle, which contributes to a finer bubble and brioche-like character.
3) Grapes: While there is a long list of grapes permitted in Champagne (now nine!), the primary three are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier.
