Well, we’re not being quiet about it anymore! California greats and Oregon darlings are here and waiting for the right buyer (and don’t even get us started on Burgundy; that’s a different email). Here are some bottles that have never been easier for you to pick up:
The 2022 Kosta Browne “Gap’s Crown Vineyard” Pinot Noir captures a refined depth, bursting with dark cherry, black raspberry, and rich violet undertones. It is elegantly structured, with sleek tannins and a touch of forest floor and spice weaving through a persistent, stony finish. Sourced from one of Sonoma Coast’s premier cool-climate sites, this wine showcases meticulous vineyard selection and graceful coastal intensity.
The 2022 Merry Edwards Anderson Valley Pinot Noir comes from one of Sonoma’s most respected producers, founded by trailblazing winemaker Merry Edwards in 1997. Fermented in small open-top tanks and aged in French oak, the wine is crafted to highlight both purity of fruit and layered complexity. It shows vibrant notes of red cherry, raspberry, and plum, accented by hints of rose petal, baking spice, and subtle earth. Silky tannins and bright acidity carry through to a long, elegant finish, making it both approachable now and age-worthy.
The 2023 Littorai Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir comes from Ted & Heidi Lemon’s pioneering estate, known for championing site-specific Pinot Noir and Chardonnay along California’s coast. Grapes are farmed using generative agriculture and fermented with native yeasts, with aging in French oak to preserve elegance and nuance. The wine offers bright flavors of red cherry, raspberry, and plum, layered with notes of rose petal, spice, and a hint of earth. Silky tannins and lively acidity give it a refined structure and a long, graceful finish.
The 2019 Stoller Family Estate Reserve Pinot Noir from Oregon's Dundee Hills is a refined expression of the region's Pinot Noir. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe plum, dried bing cherries, baking spices, and earthy undertones. The palate is supple, featuring flavors of cola and bing cherry, complemented by hints of cedar and flint. While enjoyable now, this wine is structured for aging and will benefit from proper cellaring.
Honestly, we could go on. That’s not even our only Kosta Browne! Quantities are limited, so this email is likely to be out of date shortly – you could be the one that makes it so, if you like outstanding Pinot Noir.
