2022 Domaine Nico, ‘Histoire d’A’ Pinot Noir
2022 Domaine Nico, ‘Histoire d’A’ Pinot Noir
Mendoza, Argentina
Domaine Nico's 2022 “Histoire d’A” Pinot Noir is a captivating expression from the high-altitude vineyards of Gualtallary in Argentina's Uco Valley. Crafted from Pinot Noir vines planted in 1998 at elevations around 4,430 feet, this wine showcases the region's cool-climate potential. Fermented with 40% whole clusters and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (10% new), it presents a delicate ruby hue and offers aromas of wild strawberries, crushed raspberries, dried rose petals, and mountain herbs. The palate is silky and fresh, with lively acidity accentuating flavors of tart cranberry, pomegranate, and a touch of white pepper, culminating in a long, graceful finish with subtle minerality.
