2018 Château Ormes de Pez, Cru Bourgeois, Pauillac
2018 Château Ormes de Pez, Cru Bourgeois, Pauillac
Bordeaux, France
Château Ormes de Pez, located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, traces its origins to the 18th century. The estate's name, meaning "The Elms of Pez," reflects the historical presence of elm trees on the property. In 1940, Jean-Charles Cazes acquired the château, and it has since remained under the stewardship of the Cazes family, who also own Château Lynch-Bages. This wine exhibits an intense color with aromas of dark fruits. On the palate, it is powerful yet balanced, characterized by a generous mouthfeel and beautifully ripe tannins. Wine Enthusiast awarded this vintage 94 points, noting its richness, sophistication, and age-worthy structure, recommending consumption from 2026 onward
