2019 Benoit Déhu Père & Fils, Cuvée La Rue des Noyers Extra Brut
Champagne, France
The 2019 Benoît Déhu “La Rue des Noyers” Extra Brut is a striking single-vineyard Champagne made entirely from biodynamically farmed Pinot Meunier in the village of Fossoy, on the western edge of the Vallée de la Marne. Fermented and aged for 11 months in oak barrels crafted from local forest wood, the wine undergoes no malolactic fermentation, is bottled unfined and unfiltered, and is aged on the lees for 36–40 months before disgorgement, with zero dosage. The result is a textured, expressive Champagne with aromas of orchard fruit, brioche, and toasted hazelnut, and a palate that balances creamy richness with vibrant acidity and a chalky, saline finish.
