2019 Domaine de Chevalier, Grand Cru Classé de Graves
Bordeaux, France
Domaine de Chevalier, located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux, has a storied history dating back to 1783. The estate has undergone various ownerships, notably acquired by the Bernard family in 1865. The 2014 vintage of Domaine de Chevalier Rouge is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. It presents a deep ruby color with complex aromas of blackberries, black plums, cigar ash, and woodland notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with firm tannins, offering flavors of black fruits, earthiness, and a touch of spice, leading to a long, fresh finish. This vintage is noted for its precision and intensity, with the potential to develop further complexity with age
