2023 Domaine Lafage, Cuvée Nicolas

Named after the winemaker’s son, this 100% Grenache comes from 65-year-old vines nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees, where the schist and marble soils of the Agly Valley meet the Mediterranean sun. The estate sits in a 14th-century Catalan farmhouse in Roussillon, with sweeping views from Perpignan to the sea and the majestic, snow-capped peak of Mount Canigou. This is southern France at its most soulful—ancient vines, hand-picked grapes, and a deep respect for place.

Bright ruby in the glass, the wine bursts with aromas of red berries and wild herbs. On the palate, it’s ripe and concentrated, with layers of raspberry, cassis, blueberry, and blackberry, all framed by soft tannins and a long, smooth finish. Aged 12–15 months in barrel, it’s rich yet balanced—an elegant, sun-soaked expression of the Côtes Catalanes.
