2024 Joseph Colin, Chassagne-Montrachet ‘En Cailleret’ 1er Cru

The 2024 Joseph Colin Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'En Cailleret' is a radiant expression of Chardonnay, offering a complex bouquet of honeysuckle, lime blossom, and jasmine, intertwined with notes of pear and finely honeyed peach. On the palate, it is tapered and vertical, yet eminently charming, with a tasty roundness of white fruits perfectly balanced by an incisive and saline expression of limestone, and a fine acidulous bitterness evoking citrus zest. Sourced from a very rocky site at the top of the Caillerets slope, with vines averaging 65 years old (50% from 100-year-old vines), this wine is fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in 70% older 228L barrels and 30% glass, resulting in a wine of remarkable purity and finesse.
