2021 Clos Apalta, ‘Le Petit Clos’
2021 Clos Apalta, ‘Le Petit Clos’
Colchagua Valley, Chile
Clos Apalta’s 2021 “Le Petit Clos” is a bold, expressive red blend from Chile’s Apalta Valley, composed of 68% Carménère, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc. It delivers aromas of blackberry, plum, and bay leaf, with notes of dark chocolate, graphite, and white pepper, culminating in a plush, full-bodied palate with fine-grained tannins and a long, juicy finish. Crafted by Casa Lapostolle—founded in 1994 by Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle, heir to the Grand Marnier legacy—this wine reflects a Bordeaux-inspired approach, emphasizing old-vine fruit, sustainable viticulture, and meticulous aging in French oak barrels.
