2021 Jolie Laide, Grenache Mourvèdre Syrah, North Coast
2021 Jolie Laide, Grenache Mourvèdre Syrah, North Coast
California, USA
The North Coast GSM is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre from three distinct terroirs in Northern California: rocky Sonoma, the high-elevation Yorkville Highlands, and the coastal-influenced Alder Springs Vineyard in Mendocino. Foot-stomped, whole-cluster fermented with native yeasts, and aged in neutral oak, this vibrant, concentrated blend showcases the unique characteristics of each vineyard for a dynamic, textured expression of cool-climate Rhone varietals.
Jolie-Laide is a two-person winery based in Sebastopol, founded by Scott Schultz and later joined by his partner Jenny Schultz, focusing on minimal intervention winemaking. They work with a select group of organic growers, emphasizing exceptional vineyard sites that allow them to take a hands-off approach in the winery. The winery’s labels change annually, showcasing different artists, and their natural, less-is-more winemaking style consistently produces unique and delicious wines. |
