2021 Lapostolle, ‘La Parcelle’ 8 Vieilles Vignes
Colchagua Valley, Chile
The 2021 Lapostolle La Parcelle 8 Vieilles Vignes is a rare, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile’s Apalta Valley, crafted from century-old, ungrafted vines planted in 1907. This wine offers a profound bouquet of blackberries, blueberries, and plums, complemented by earthy notes of bark and mushroom, and a touch of seaweed. On the palate, it reveals a medium-bodied structure with chewy tannins, a vibrant acidity, and a finish that hints at oyster shells and dried herbs. Aged for 26 months in French oak barrels, it stands as a testament to the character and longevity of old vines.
