One of the premier wineries of the historic C.V.N.E. (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España), Viña Real is a classic example of Rioja Crianza. Made from 90% Tempranillo and 10% a blend of Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano grapes, this is a robust, weighty red that spends 13-14 months in American and French oak to pick up additional spice, vanilla and structure. For a Crianza this has ample muscle but plenty of fruit, so pair with burgers, steak, and mushrooms.
