Quinta do Ameal, an estate dating back to 1710 in Portugal’s Lima Valley, specializes in organic white wines made exclusively from the Loureiro grape, which thrives in this unique terroir. Their philosophy centers on minimal intervention and a deep focus on the vineyard, resulting in expressive wines with strong character and a true sense of place. The Reserva bottling comes from a single vineyard, fermented in used barrels, aged sure lie in french oak, followed by large 2000L Austrian oak tuns. If there was Grand Cru Chablis from Portugal, this would be it.
