2024 Abbazia di Novacella, Kerner Valle Isarco
2024 Abbazia di Novacella, Kerner Valle Isarco
Alto-Adige, Italy
The 2024 Abbazia di Novacella Kerner is a vivid expression of alpine viticulture, crafted by one of the world’s oldest active wineries. Founded in 1142 by Augustinian canons in Italy’s Valle Isarco, the abbey has cultivated vines for nearly nine centuries, with current vineyards perched up to 900 meters above sea level. This high-altitude setting imparts the wine with crisp acidity and a mineral backbone, while the Kerner grape—a cross between Riesling and Schiava—offers aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and alpine herbs. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve its purity, the 2024 vintage delivers a sleek, dry palate with notes of green apple and a clean, slatey finish.
