Founded in 1862 and still owned by the same family, Barbancourt continues to produce a classic (some would say The classic) Haitian rhum, directly from fresh sugar cane juice. The "5 Star" rum is aged for 8 years in French Limousin oak casks. The spirit has a spicy, pepper-and-ginger profile along with stewed fruits. Great for sipping, and try it as a replacement for Cognac in cocktails.
