Pure Kentucky XO Bourbon Whiskey

You don't see the XO  (i.e. Extra Old) designation on a whiskey very often, as it's typically used for brandies like cognac and armagnac. Pure Kentucky Small Batch Straight Bourbon Whiskey, from Willett Distillery, wears that medallion proudly and welcomes the comparison through the round richness of its spirit. There's plenty of toffee and orchard fruit on the nose, backed up with some cinnamon baking spice, but it's on the palate where the silky texture really shines.
